NOTR - McConnell, Powell & Immigration - 1.11.16

Today's Show: MCCONNELL, POWELL & IMMIGRATION

Chris discusses the case of Pastor James McConnell, the Belfast minister who was prosecuted for speaking against Muslims in the U.K.  McConnell has been declared "not guilty" by the court whose ruling (thankfully) came down on the side of free speech.  In his sermon, Pastor McConnell made reference to 20th century politician, Enoch Powell, whose famous "Rivers of Blood" speech in 1968 was given as a warning against the massive immigration wave of that time.  Powell called it "madness"  to allow 50,000 dependents to flow into the U.K. annually and claimed the Brits were preparing their own "funeral pyre."

NOTR - Shadows of Persecution - 1.6.16

Chris discusses the rising danger of persecution against Christianity and anyone holding to traditional values in America.  A new law in New York makes it a crime to "misgender" a transexual by referring to them according to their biological sex, rather than their preferred orientation.  Business owners can be fined up to $250,000 for this transgression.  Also in Congress is the proposal of a law to "criminalize criticism of Islam."  House Resolution 569 is co-sponsored by 82 Democrats for the purpose of "Condemning violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States."  Is this the beginning of Sharia Law in America?

Chris discusses the book of Hebrews, chapter 11 in particular -- the great chapter on faith.  While there are many promises the saints are given from God, the Scripture warns that without faith it is "impossible" to please God, and that the word once preached must be "mixed with faith" in those who hear it.  Hebrews provides powerful examples from those who have come before us.
