Today's Show: WHEN THE PROTESTANTS WENT TO WAR - 5.22.2018
Chris discusses some of the unique (and largely forgotten) accounts recorded in the massive work, “The History of Protestantism” by 19th century historian, J.A. Wylie. The record shows how Protestants in Europe suffered many persecutions and massacres at the hands of Rome, and while slow to take up arms in their own defense, eventually went to war to defend the free preaching of the Gospel. Also discussed are the events leading up to the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre of 1572, where the French Protestant Huguenots were betrayed after being drawn into an ecumenical union.
