NOTR - ROMANS 13 & THE PERIL OF ENGLAND - 9.1.18
Today's Show: ROMANS 13 & THE PERIL OF ENGLAND - 9.1.2018
Chris discusses the continued decline of civilization in the United Kingdom, as it is reported that a firearm is discharged “up to every six hours” in London — a city that has been “gun-free” since 1997 when the British government disarmed the common people. Since then, crime has gotten increasingly worse, with the city of London now exceeding the murder rate of New York for the first time in two hundred years. What does the Bible tell us about the responsibility of those in power? Can the State look the other way at wickedness and evil? Or does government have the responsibility as “the minister of God” to destroy the wicked from the land, and defend the righteous?

Hi Chris. I praise God for your ministry. I agree with much of what you say on the show. But I think your view of govt and liberty isn't entirely correct.
I think you should listen to this interview with Tom Woods with, a prolific author and conservative libertarian as he's interviewed on the Christian radio show Iowa Talk as they discuss why Christians should've supported Ron Paul in 2012. I know this is 6 yrs old but Ron Paul embodies libertarianism, so essentially the program is less about the man and more about the ideas of liberty instead Tom Woods makes some good points about why Christians and Christianity is more compatible with liberty view of govt than the so-called conservative view of conservative:

CJP: Dear Jay, thank you for your thoughtful comments. There are times in my life when I would have been more inclined to embrace the libertarian worldview. But after studying how the free world was really established from the time of the great Reformation onward, I now believe that without the law of God in the Bible, it would have been virtually impossible to confront the doctrine of the divine right of kings, or the assertions made by the priest-craft of the Inquisition -- the elements of which can still be found in the totalitarian forms of government in the world today. Without the law of God and the teachings of Christ, I do not believe slavery would have been ended in the Western world. As Christians, we must reclaim the beliefs of our forefathers. While I like Ron Paul, the undefined nature of the libertarian point of view will be no match for Sharia law and radical leftism. "But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies." (2 Kings 17:39)
