Chris discusses a video of Dr. Dan Wallace of Dallas Theological Seminary, in which he argues against the placement of 1 John 5:7 in the New Testament.  We cover some of the history of this verse, and examine the critical text arguments that oppose it.  We remind the audience that Dr. Wallace’s ultimate view of the New Testament is that — even from its point of origin — it is a paraphrase at best, which he communicates in his article, “Fifteen Myths About Bible Translation” (Myth #14).  We compare Wallace’s view along with that of the modern Jesuit General.  From where do modern textual critics obtain their arguments?  Are they really based on scientifically provable facts?  Or theories that have been handed down by others?
