According to some conservative Catholics, the answer is no. Also discussed is the history of Communism and Socialism with the Church of Rome. Today, most Americans are unaware of the Jesuit/papal beginnings of Marxist ideology, but well known Protestant churchmen published warnings in the nineteenth century for future generations.
