NOTR - THANKSGIVING SHOW 2020 - 11.26.20

Today's Show: THANKSGIVING SHOW 2020 - 11.26.2020

Chris discusses perhaps the most unusual Thanksgiving of our lives, with the election controversy still in play, and now special Covid-19 restrictions on how many folks can come over to the house for turkey.  But this situation appears to be getting worse in places like Canada and New Zealand, where it is reported that quarantine camps are on the rise, and theories abound as to what that might mean.  We offer speculation on the outcome of the election, and what it might mean if either candidate wins.  We also consider the importance of the Thanksgiving holiday and how it impacts our history and national identity.

NOTR - Thanksgiving Past & Present - 11.27.17

Today's Show: THANKSGIVING PAST & PRESENT - 11.27.2017

Chris discusses the Thanksgiving holiday and how it has been changed by post modern ideology, and the anti-Colonialist movement in the United States.  How different the worldview of our country is from a short time ago, when men like Charles Dickens encouraged Americans to be thankful for the many blessings that God had given to our nation.  Yet today, it appears that the annual tradition of giving thanks has been diminished through an increase of material and commercial interests.  The original purpose of the holiday was to give thanks to Almighty God.  In early America, this was not only seen as appropriate but was also declared to be the "duty of all nations" -- as it was described by George Washington in his Thanksgiving proclamation of 1789.
