SUPREME COURT DECLINES TO HEAR CASE ON RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The allegedly "conservative" U.S. Supreme Court, where the new Trump-appointed judges were supposed to be defending traditional Constitutional freedom for the next generation, has now declined to hear the case of a Christian florist who has been forced to provide services for same-sex weddings. If they had accepted the case, the court could have defended religious liberty for many years to come, and put an end to the harassment against the Christian community. It is sad that two of the Trump appointees (Kavanaugh and Barrett) were among those who declined. From an article in the Federalist, we read the following:
"The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Friday to hear a case from a Christian florist challenging Washington state law which forced her to provide her services for same-sex weddings.
"Justices Clarence Thomas, Thomas Alito, and Neil Gorsuch declared their willingness to hear the case but other conservative-leaning Justices such as Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett did not join the vote putting the case below the threshold necessary for a ruling."
