NOTR - STATUE OF MOLECH SET UP IN ROME - 11.12.19

Today's Show: - STATUE OF MOLECH SET UP IN ROME - 11.12.2019

Chris discusses the shocking story of how the Vatican has apparently approved the placement of a pagan statue of the demon god, Molech right outside the Colosseum in Rome.  Molech is known in the Bible as the pagan god who required child sacrifices (Leviticus 18:21), where children were reportedly burned alive in rituals where drums were pounded to drown out the cries of the tormented children.  Because the Colosseum is known as the site where Christians were martyred for their faith under ancient Rome (because they rejected the pagan gods) it is seen as especially offensive that the Vatican would allow such a statue to set up there.  We evaluate Scriptures concerning the pagan deity Molech along with commentaries about how the worship of this demon god was practiced.

NOTR - ROME & THE ASSASSINATION OF LINCOLN - 10.11.18

Today's Show: ROME & THE ASSASSINATION OF LINCOLN - 10.11.2018

Chris discusses the ongoing debate about who was really behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in the 19th century.  It has been well documented that at least two Catholic priests (Charles Chiniquy, Emmett McLoughlin) wrote books in which they blamed the murder of Lincoln on the Vatican and her Jesuit priests.  But now another work has surfaced that was written by one of the generals who sat on the Military Commission that investigated the crime, and also presided over the trial of the conspirators who were convicted and put to death.  In 1897, General Thomas M. Harris published the book titled, “Rome’s Responsibility for the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln.”  General Harris wrote that "a crisis is even now upon us; a crisis in which the world-old contest between freedom and despotism is to be definitely and finally settled."

NOTR - The News, Cromwell & The Execution of King Charles I - 6.30.17

Today's Show: THE NEWS, CROMWELL & THE EXECUTION OF KING CHARLES I - 6.30.2017

Chris does a follow up show on the situation in the United Kingdom and the controversies in Northern Ireland.  He also discusses a modern article on the subject of whether or not the execution of King Charles I by Oliver Cromwell and his Puritan government was right or wrong.  The article published on a UK website tackles the controversy from both sides; on the one hand, arguing that King Charles betrayed England, was rightly condemned as a traitor and deserved to be put to death.  On the other side, it is argued that his execution was unnecessary and had been instigated by Cromwell and his supporters, against the prevailing will of the people at the time.  Hundreds of years later, and the issues continue to be debated.  But why are these historic arguments important to our world today?

NOTR - Saudi Arabia, Communism & Rome - 5.24.17

Today's Show: SAUDI ARABIA, COMMUNISM & ROME - 5.24.2017

Chris continues the discussion on the dangers of the Western political view of Saudi Arabia.  Yet Western leaders have a long history (even prior to the Second World War) of favoring Islam and Arabia against the Christian world.  Also discussed is some of the history of Rome and the principles of Communism, which
find some origins in the teachings of ancient Catholic writers such as Thomas Aquinas and his views of private property ownership.

NOTR - Rome & Islam: Two Horns of Antichrist - 1.16.17

Today's Show: ROME & ISLAM: TWO HORNS OF ANTICHRIST

Chris discusses a new story about how US Catholic Bishops hold a "dialogue" with the national director of the Islamic Society of North America -- a group that views Islam as "superior to all other faiths and destined to replace them."  Meanwhile, the Jesuit's Georgetown University's project known as the Bridge Initiative researches "Islam-o-phobia" and has been called a "highway to Sharia."  Are the Jesuits seeking to advance Islamic supremacy in the United States?  And should Christians reconsider how the Reformer John Calvin saw Rome and Islam as "two horns" of Antichrist?
